With his world transforming through the eyes of a coffee cup and having his kids Ozzy and Izzy around for their morning hugs and cuddles while booting his system to start his daily work — Dave Albert Moreno’s customary skit is making a ten strike.
Working from home for about six years, he is no stranger to the changes embraced by many in the time of the pandemic.
“My take away [in this pandemic] though was — it had allowed me to get my certification as SEO specialist since I am self-learned and I didn’t get a diploma from a school. During no work, I went to an online school. I took everything positively and kept myself productive during these horrible times,” Dave shared.
Living in the country’s City of Pines and Summer Capital, Baguio City in Benguet, Dave had a long run with the corporate world. Before joining the Ripple VAs team, he worked as a multi-niche virtual assistant to clients needing support with their online platforms encompassing website work, eBay, and Amazon.
“My job role includes online business process development and management, developing a database using spreadsheets, inventory management, SERP ranking specialist, content research, SEO, and just about anything thrown at me that can be performed remotely, including video and photo editing and ordering coffee for my boss,” Dave said.
With these experiences demonstrating how qualified he has become, Dave believes that to be a virtual assistant: He must be honest, accountable, and a good team player. This expression, of course, came from Ripple, where he learned to have fun, help, and care for one another.
As a 41-year-old father of two, Dave confessed that like everyone who hopes having not to commute every day is one part of the dream he is living. Being in the comfort of his home inspires him every day and keeps his passion flame boosting.
Since his office is situated right to his children, he gets to be a father to them in real-time, even if he is working. “My work as a VA doesn’t require complete silence, and I keep a project that will not hinder my being a father,” he uttered politely.
Apart from being industrious, Dave, born on November 7, 1979, is a do-it-yourself (DIY) type of person. He tries pushing himself into anything and just about everything because he always reckons that if others can do it, there is no reason he cannot learn and do it himself too. He goes into becoming a multiplatform person for the sake of fun and saving money. He shares he loves failing and making mistakes that include blowing the engine of their family car.
“DIY makes you independent. It lets you survive and eventually thrive. It makes you versatile and most importantly — you save money instead of paying others to do things for you,” Dave, a Nursing graduate from Dr. Yanga’s Colleges Inc. in Bocaue, Bulacan in 2005, affirmed.
